My favorite art work was the flying hats. i thought it was nice how she included herself in the art work.

Bella Feldman

I attended the lecture not knowing who Bella Feldman was, but as soon as her art was pictured on the slides I was automatically interested. Her work and sculptures were very interesting and nothing like I had really seen before. Her use of found objects and creating them into something new and unique was what stuck out to me the most. Also how huge her pieces were! I especially enjoyed seeing her 'reach' series and how elegant yet powerful they looked. I could feel her passion for art and how she said creating things was like an addiction. I thoroughly enjoyed her lecture, it made me appreciate the essence of art and creativity even more.

Bella Feldman

I liked Bella, because she put a lot of thought into each of her pieces. She had things that influenced her life incorporated in to very complicated and thought provoking pieces. I liked her War toys Series the best because there was so many. I thought it was also very interesting that people said that she couldn't blow glass to metal and how she disproved them. For a little women it was awesome to see that she is able to make some giant sculptures!

Guest Lecture: Bella Felman

Felman is a prolific artist who describes her work as an addiction. Between glass etching, collage and painting she has experimented with a number of mediums. I find it inspiring to not get stuck in one medium alone - no matter one's level of mastery or experience in a given medium - to try new creatvie outlets.

Lecture

I found the works very well balanced in positive and negative space, and also very nice in the use of materials

Bella Feldman

I thought Bella Feldman's works were very interesting. My favorite art of hers that she showed us in the slides was one of the first slides. The one of the glass sculpture. I think its very cool that she collects different parts and pieces of materials and can create something beautiful that people flock to see. Her use of objects to create art is very impressive. It also takes hard work and she mentioned that she has a team of people she works with when putting a piece together. Her slides show her creativity and love that she has for art.

bella feldman

Like I mentioned to some of my classmates, I found her art interesting. I would say my favorite piece was the Chaplin's hats. I tought it was very interesting. There were a lot of aspects of her presentation that I did not like, but regrdless of that I think her art is amazing as well as her dedication. I know am so late. Sorry.
During Bella's lecture the most memorable thing to me was when she said you have to be addicted to your art. It shows how you kinda have to put your whole self into it. My favorite piece that she showed was the 2 panes of glass that had print on them.

Bella Feldman

A bit late, but better than never ...
I really loved Bella's use of found objects. The way she takes an existing thing and turns it into a new object that is really quite beautiful. My favourite works that she showed us were probably the last giant flask type things, with the glass. Also, for some reason, her graduate show, with all the mutated rats. I don't know why I liked that one but in some of the photos of it they actually looked quite nice and not like mutations at all.

Bella Feldman Lecture

It was really interesting for me to see most of Bella Feldman works. I have never seen that kind of art work before. from all of her projects what i was interested to see the most was her glass sculpture and war toys. she is a very interesting women, one of the things she said that if she is not working in a project or just doing something artistic she won't feel good. it is amazing to me that she still doing art until now.

Bella Feldman

Bella's lecture inspired me to keep doing what I'm doing as an artist. I like how she worked with a variety of mediums through her lifetime. She did not just worked with sculptures but she made mixed media collages, paintings, and prints. Her War Toys were my favorite because the style of toys look like they came from the 30s to the 50s even though it reflected the Gulf War. Her second War Toys seem to be steampunk-inspired which I admire the most. On the other hand, I like how she took creativity into another level by taking something that looks impossible into a work of art. I'm inspired by many artists and Bella's passion in art made me push my love for art even further.

Bella 40 Years of Sculpture Lecture

One of the things Bella said during the lecture, really struck me: "Art has to be like an addiction...like dope." I loved that she came to share her experiences. I can even relate to how she said she hates working in "isolation at home" because that's when you just keep doing what you've always done. When you work alone, you don't learn anything, and all the pieces you create end up looking the same as the ones before. Of all the series that she showed us, my favorite is probably the green flask. It's stuff like that, that remind me of happy accidents. It's not intended, but it doesn't hinder the work at all. In fact, I think the green pigment in the flask actually helped the piece.

Bella Lecture

I found this art lecture particularly interesting because what fascinated me the most was her intensity with art- more or less her "addiction" to art. She made a great point in sharing that she loves what she does, and cannot live without it, which enables her to create incessant amounts of art throughout her lifetime. It is a very inspiring aspect to being an artist, and she is the first of many artists that I've met that have really emphasized this crucial point.
The other important thing that really impressed me was the sheer creativity and impossibility of her pieces. Some of the sculptures were fairly large scale in size and its impressive to think of a woman of her age being so brilliant in creation and in sized-sculptures. She is an amazing woman and she inspires me to be as creative as possible, and most importantly confident, in my art experience.

Bella Feldman

The thing that amazed me about Bella the most was how long she's been an artist and how she's graduated from here. I always thought that being an artist, you get tired of it or just lose your creativity. But after seeing her work, from carved glass, to paintings, to war toys and trying things out with engineering, it was amazing how you can tell that art was/is her passion. I enjoyed it.
